Inffuser - Induction Diffusers
Going beyond conventional wisdom with low pressure induction diffusers...
In the design of a typical Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system, many decisions
are made based largely on past experience and conventional wisdom. While this often results in
a satisfactory system, it may not result in an optimal "green" design. With the movement
toward sustainable building designs, there is an increased emphasis on improving both the energy
efficiency and comfort level of all types of HVAC systems.
Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems are very popular in commercial office buildings. While these
systems typically provide adequate room temperature control, there are often concerns about air
movement and humidity control at part load conditions. In addition, the supply fans in these
"all-air" systems are often the largest single consumer of energy in a typical
commercial building in North America.
Inffusers when used with low supply air temperatures offer an opportunity to improve both
the energy efficiency and comfort level of VAV systems, as well as in other conventional
HVAC system types.
